Tahko Apartments is a family-owned company operating in Tahko. We can offer 36 different apartments and Villas right in the center of Tahko holiday area. There you can find the best place to enjoy your holiday for yourself, your family or for your group. All activities and services are within walking distance, so this is an ideal place to enjoy your holiday without own car. Because we have a good local knowledge, we can help our customers also in non-accommodation issues.

Tahko Apartments Oy has signed the Sustainable Tourism 2030 Pledge, to demonstrate our commitment to improving the sustainability performance of our business between now and 2030.
The UN World Tourism Organization defines sustainable tourism as “tourism that takes full account of
its current and future economic, social and environmental impacts, addressing the needs of visitors,
the industry, the environment and host communities.”
Each year, we commit to measuring and improving our sustainability performance in the following
ways:

Environment

The heating systems in our apartments are environmentally friendly.

Apartments Huili and Villa Ozero use Air source heating pumps which save energy and at the same time improve living comfort.

Apartments Anna and Apartments Tähtitahko use district heating, which means that heat production is efficient and environmentally friendly. It also supports a local business.

Villa Prud uses geothermal energy.

We actively regulate the heating of all our apartments according to the occupancy rate

The wood used in the fireplaces comes from the surrounding forests, which are managed respectfully with the environment and landscape in mind. Natural fields are maintained to promote biodiversity.

Recycling and waste management

Tahko Apartments has a recycling points for the different types of household waste. Through careful recycling, we want to maximize the potential reuse of waste. We have containers for plastic, glass, metal, cardboard, cans, bottles and general waste.

We have the Sustainable Biosphere certificate, which aims to further enhance recycling.

Supporting local businesses

By using local services and employing locals, the business contributes to the local economy. We recommend that our visitors also use other nearby services, such as wellness and activity services, restaurants and shops. We also have a rich cultural offering. The aim is to encourage customers use responsible entrepreneurs in Kuopio area.

Whenever something needs fixing in the apartments, we utilise local repair services. By supporting locals, we want to increase the well-being of the Kuopio economic region

Aholansaari the home of the 18th century farmer and revivalist Paavo Ruotsalainen. The heart of the island is the historically valuable Paavon pirtti – a cottage with a scent of smoke and full of atmosphere. This is a place where our guests can relax, surrounded by the beautiful nature.
The nature conservation area of Pisa is known for its lake views and forested hills. You can admire the unobstructed views to all cardinal directions from the observation tower at the top of Pisanmäki. At the top of the fell, you can also get to see the over 400 year-old, rock-hewn border markings of the treaty of Teusina.

During their visit, our guests are encouraged to visit nearby attractions, many of which are accessible by foot. Hiking and mountain biking trails allow you to explore the surrounding area.

We recommend activities such as mushroom and berry picking, fishing, or just walking and relaxing in nature. Because the activities are nearby, there is no need to use fossil fuels to access them. Our co-operators rent regular and electric mountain bikes, sub boards, canoes etc. for people interested in exploring the surrounding area
